First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Pays Condolence Visit to Ojora Family in Lagos
The First Lady of Nigeria, , has paid a condolence visit to the family of late industrialist, , describing him as a devout Muslim who consistently promoted religious harmony throughout his lifetime.
The visit took place at the Ojora family residence in Ikoyi, Lagos, where the First Lady was received by the daughter of the deceased, , and her husband, former Senate President, .
Speaking during the visit, Senator Oluremi Tinubu conveyed heartfelt condolences on behalf of President and herself, noting that the late Ojora was more than a respected national figure — he was family.
“You have always been in my mind and that of the President. We cannot forget him. He was always there with us as a family. This is also my family,” she said.
The First Lady described the late industrialist as a man whose wise counsel, unwavering support, and stabilizing presence would be deeply missed.
Offering words of comfort to the widow, , she commended her strength and dignity as the matriarch of the family.
“Your relationship as a couple was an inspiration to many of us. We see you and him and many wish to have that sort of bond,” the First Lady remarked.
Reflecting on her personal encounters with the late Otunba of Lagos, Senator Tinubu recalled seeing him attend church services despite being a devout Muslim, describing it as a powerful testament to his lifelong commitment to interfaith unity.
She noted that the Ojora family has much to be proud of in the enduring legacy he leaves behind — not only as a distinguished industrialist but also as a bridge-builder who promoted peaceful coexistence across religious lines.
Members of the Ojora family, led by the matriarch, expressed appreciation for the visit and offered prayers for the continued success of President Tinubu and the First Lady.
Late Chief Adekunle Ojora passed away on January 28, 2026, at the age of 93. He has since been laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites.
