FG to arraign suspects over Benue killings on Monday
The Federal Government has announced that suspects arrested in connection with the recent killings in Yelwata, Benue State, will be arraigned in court on Monday, February 2.
According to a statement from the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, the suspects will be brought before Justice Joyce Abdul-Malik of the Federal High Court in Abuja to face charges related to the violent attacks.
The government said the arraignment follows a painstaking investigation and close collaboration among relevant security and law enforcement agencies, which led to the arrest of individuals strongly linked to the killings.
Reassuring Nigerians, the Office of the AGF stated that justice would be pursued diligently to send a strong message to those threatening national peace and security under any guise.
The statement further emphasized that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains committed to the protection of lives and property across the country, in line with constitutional provisions.
