FG Approves First Female-only University

The Federal Government has approved Tazkiyah University, the first female-only university in Nigeria, founded by Prof. Ibrahim Maqari, the Chief Imam of the National Mosque, Abuja. The university is designed exclusively for women and may also operate with an all-female academic staff, making it the first of its kind in the country, and is to be situated in Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Prof. Ibrahim Maqari further disclosed that all profits generated from the institution will be channeled directly into a fund dedicated to supporting orphans.

Tazkiyah University is one of nine newly accredited private Universities by the NUC, with plans to relocate its permanent campus to Kaduna city in the future.
