Federal High Court nullifies PDP National Convention, Bars Turaki, others from acting as Party Officers

The Federal High Court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State, has nullified the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention held in Ibadan on November 15, 2025.

In a ruling delivered on Thursday, Justice Uche Agomoh declared the convention invalid and barred Turaki and other individuals elected at the event from parading themselves as national officers of the party.

The court further ruled that the Caretaker Committee led by Abdulrahman, alongside Senator Samuel Anyanwu, remains the only legally recognised National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP.

Justice Agomoh held that the caretaker leadership shall continue to oversee the affairs of the party pending the conduct of a valid and properly constituted National Convention in line with the PDP constitution and relevant laws.

The judgment is expected to have significant implications for the internal leadership structure of the PDP, as party stakeholders await further directives on the process and timeline for organizing a fresh national convention.
