FATHER ON THE RUN AFTER CUTTING DAUGHTER’S FINGER OVER N100

A middle age man,Musa Olayinka is now on the run after allegedly cutting one of the fingers of his 14 year old daughter over the sum of N100.
The runaway suspect who is now being search for,committed the crime in Ijebu-Ode and has since fled his home,when he learnt police wanted to arrest him
The innocent JSS 3 student (naameswitheld)who was said to be preparing for junior West African Examination Council,WAEC,examination met the wrath of her father,who acussed her for not cutting her hair,having gave her N100 to do so.
The ugly incident caught the attention of Child Protection Network,(CPN), Ogun State Chapter and made a report,which necessitated the quick intervention of police.
The CPN independent investigation also revealed that, lot of marks were equally found on the body of the girl, which was established as previous injuries the runaway father had inflicted on her.
Speaking on the issue chairman of the network in the state ,Kunle Sanni confirmed the incident to our correspondent,adding that,the body was working with the police to unveil identity of the suspect and subsequent prosecution.
Sanni said,information got to the network about the ugly development,hence, a team was immediately raised to liase with the police,adding that as at the time of filing this report,the suspect was on the run.
‘We met the 14yrs old girl a Jss3 student who is suppose to be having her junior WAEC by now, with one of her left finger cut off by the father and a lot of marks on her body due to the rope that was used to tie her and the cain mark’
‘She is a maternal orphan , we also saw the step mother but the father is no where to be found She was punished by the father because she refused to cut her hair after receiving N100 for the hair cut ‘,CPN said.
The network further explained that,the girl ran away to her grandmother,due to her father’s earlier threat,but was later return home after the father was pacified to forgive her.
She ran away from the house to her grand father’s house due to that, she was later brought back by her grand father to her father for better settlement’.
The Child Protection Network said, unfortunately the father seized the opportunity and tie her down overnight, beat her and cut her finger at mid night.
The CPN said, the innocent girl was eventually rescued by the vigilante and taken to the hospital for treatment after police report ,adding that the suspect thereafter took to his heels.
However, as at the time of this reportt,the victim has beenadmitted at the hospital and said to be responding to treatment.
When contacted, Public Relations Officer of Ogun State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the incident, with assurance that,the runaway suspect would soon be apprehended. He also affirmed that,the victim is responding to treatment
