Family of Late Oba JI Ipinyemi Announces Burial Programme

The family of the late monarch, HRH Oba JI Ipinyemi, the Olu Ere of Ere in Ife Olukotun, Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State, has announced a schedule of events to celebrate his life and legacy.
According to a statement issued by HRH Isiaq Ajibola, the Akogun of Ife Olukotun, the ceremonies will hold on November 28 and 29, 2025, in Ife Olukotun, Yagba East.
A commemoration service will precede the main events and is scheduled to take place at the Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Kwara Cathedral, Ilorin, on November 27, 2025, at 10 a.m.
To ensure a smooth and befitting celebration, the family has constituted various committees to oversee the planning and coordination of the events.
Akogun Ajibola offered prayers for the peaceful repose of Oba Ipinyemi, who passed away on August 14, 2025, after a brief illness. He described the monarch’s death as a great loss to the community and thanked all well-wishers for their support.
