Expect Infrastructural Development On Every Side In 2020- Makinde’s spokesman, Taiwo Adisa
The Chief Press Secretary to the Oyo State governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, Mr. Taiwo Adisa has stated that all-round infrastructural development will be the lot of the people of the state in the coming year 2020.
Adisa, who made this assertion while responding to questions on a live radio program in Ibadan on Sunday, stated that the infrastructure development will cut across all the pillars which the administration of Governor Makinde is resting on; security, health, education, and economic expansion.
“Infrastructure will be the lot of the people of Oyo State in the year 2020. If you look at the 2020 budget that was signed into law a week ago, the infrastructure aspect of it will gulp about 46 per cent. We are talking of physical money that will be deployed into the state directly. Also, there would be infrastructure in terms of roads, works, health centres in the state and at the level of education.
“The infrastructure I am talking about will also cut across communities as we will carry out a lot of constructions, deploy some developmental projects and some other initiatives on the light-up Ibadan. We will light up more towns in the state and work will continue at a fast pace,” Adisa stated.
He said further that the present administration did not just start recording such monumental success as attested to by the general public by accident, but by the reflection of a well thought out masterplan carved out into a blueprint for the state.
He also explained that Governor Makinde, before his assumption of office, has devoted major parts of his life and resources to philanthropy and service to humanity, which made it much easier to kick start his administration on a flying mode.
“Governor Makinde’s administration is out to make a critical impact on the people because his words are his bond. This is also why he is practically reeling out all the promises he made to the people during his electioneering campaign,” He said.
He equally shaded the main opposition party in the state, the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying that the opposition can only function by providing facts and figures as against making frivolous claims just to seek political relevance and attention.
While describing opposition party in the state as merely noise makers lacking in constructive criticism and better alternative ideas, he noted that the elements involved should show a sense of responsibility to the people of the state rather than castigating government’s efforts.
Mr. Adisa, however, alluded to the fact that the present administration is always open to advise and new ideas, saying that the 615 free toll number is not only meant for emergency purposes but also to engage government on critical matters that can develop the state.
