Exclusive: Sheikh Khalifa Sani Zaria Debunks Death Rumour
…Confirms Good Health After Meeting Lawyer
Sheikh Khalifa Sani Zaria has dismissed widespread rumours of his death, confirming that he is alive and in good health following a meeting with his legal counsel.
Speaking after interacting with his lawyer, Sanusi Musa (SAN), the cleric reassured supporters and the public of his well-being. “I am alive, hale and hearty. My rights were not violated, and I thank the DSS for upholding professionalism and justice,” he said, while also calling for calm, prayers, and peace.
Musa, who also confirmed meeting his client, stated that Sheikh Khalifa was in stable condition. “I can confirm that I met with the Sheikh and he is in good health condition,” the senior advocate said, dismissing speculations surrounding his alleged death.
Providing further clarification, the lawyer disclosed that his client had initially been held in military custody before being recently transferred to the Department of State Services (DSS). He commended the agency for granting him access to his client, noting that the matter is already before the court.
Musa added that Sheikh Khalifa is expected to appear in court on April 10.
In a related development, the legal counsel also briefed prominent Islamic scholar Ibrahim Dahiru Bauchi on the situation, reiterating that the cleric remains safe and healthy.
Reacting to the update, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi expressed appreciation to the DSS for what he described as transparency and cooperation in handling the matter.
The clarification appears to have allayed fears among followers and the general public, following the earlier circulation of unverified reports claiming the cleric had died.
