Ex-Tinubu Support Groups DG, Abdulmumin Jibrin, Dumps NNPP, Rejoins APC, Backs Tinubu for 2027
A former Director-General of the Tinubu Support Groups, Hon. Abdulmumin Kofa Jibrin, has formally resigned from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC). Jibrin announced his return to the ruling party on Sunday, pledging full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
At a gathering in his hometown of Kofa, Bebeji Local Government Area of Kano State, over 2,000 Islamic clerics (Ulamas) offered special prayers for Jibrin as he publicly renounced his membership of the NNPP and the Kwankwasiyya Movement, led by former Kano State Governor, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Speaking during the event, Jibrin said, “In a show of solidarity, I was warmly received by thousands of my constituents in Kofa, Bebeji, Kano. The gathering resolved to leave the NNPP/Kwankwasiyya, join the APC, and endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for a second term in office.”
He added that the clerics also prayed for President Tinubu, as well as for peace, unity, and the continued progress of Kiru/Bebeji, Kano State, and Nigeria as a whole.
