Ex-Pension Reform Task Force Chairman Abdulrasheed Maina Hospitalised After Collapse
Former Chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Task Force, Abdulrasheed Maina, has been hospitalised in Abuja after collapsing on Tuesday, according to his aide.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Maina’s media assistant, Emmanuel Ekwe, said the former pension boss slumped while attempting to access his office. He was subsequently rushed to a hospital in the Federal Capital Territory, where he is currently receiving medical attention.
Ekwe did not disclose the cause of the collapse or provide details on Maina’s current medical condition, but noted that doctors are monitoring him closely.
Maina, who has been a controversial public figure, previously faced prosecution over allegations of pension fund fraud before the task force was disbanded. There was no indication in the statement whether the incident was related to any ongoing legal or administrative issues.
Further updates are expected as more information becomes available.
