Ex-PDP chairman loses Senate seat to ex-Gov Suswam

A former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Barnabas Gemade, has lost his reelection bid as the senator representing Benue North East senatorial district, popularly called Zone A.

Gemade, who ran on the platform of Social Democratic Party in the National Assembly elections came third, having scored 27,141 votes.

A former Benue State Governor, Mr. Gabriel Suswam of the Peoples Democratic Party was announced on Tuesday as the winner with 744,285 vote.

All Progressives Congress candidate, Mimi Orubibi, got 148,614 votes to come second.
