ex IIJ lecturer and journalist, Stephen Oladipupo wins ANN House of Assembly ticket
OLADIPUPO, EX MEDIA TEACHER AND JOURNALIST WIN ANN TICKET
A media practitioner and former lecturer at the International Institute of Journalism (IIJ) Abuja, Comrade Stephen Oladipupo (C.S.O) will be the only candidate contesting under the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN) political platform in Ekiti State.
Oladipupo who will run for the State House of Assembly in Oye Constituency II became the sole candidate of the party through an affirmative congress conducted at the party’s Local Government Secretariat, Oye Ekiti.
In his acceptance speech after the affirmative voice vote, Oladipupo said he chose to contest on the platform of the ANN so as to deconstruct the age long belief that political parties rather than candidate win election in Nigeria. According to him “I don’t need to be in a known or long existing political party that have nothing to offer to win election.
He stated that the electorate must force political parties to move away from the practice of fielding candidates who are not credible and have nothing to offer by rejecting them and their political parties.
Oladipupo noted that his track record of accountability, transparency, consistency and accessible leadership qualities are enough credential to see him through at the poll come 2019.
