EX-Convict Arrested In Ogun For Armed-Robbery

Ogun State Police Command on Wednesday said it has arrested an ex-convict identified as Ibrahim Akinola again for armed robbery.
The Command Public Relations Officer,Abimbola Oyeyemi who confirmed this to journalists in Abeokuta,explaining that ,the suspect was arrested when he broke into the house of one Olupeju Joseph at Orimerunmu area of Mowe in Obafemi-Owode local government area of the state.
He said, ‘The men of Ogun State Police Command has arrested one Ibrahim Akinola ‘m’ who is an ex-convict for armed robbery’.
The police spokesman added further that, the suspect committed the crime on Tuesday alongside with another suspect said to be on the run,as at the time of filing this report.
Oyeyemi added that the bandits inflicted matchet cuts on head of their victim,and disposed him of the sum of N150,000,as well as a plasma television set.
‘The suspect was arrested on Tuesday morning when he and one other who is now at large broke into the house of one Ojupeju Joseph at Orimerunmu area of Mowe and inflicted matchet cuts on his head after which they dispossessed him of the sum of N150,000:00k. They also made awaay with his Plasma Television’,Oyeyemi said.
According to him,while the operation was going on, distress call was made to Mowe Divisional Headquarters and the Divisional Police Officer, Charles Ebhuoma led his anti-robbery men to the scene where the suspect was arrested while his accomplice escaped.
He said,the Plasma Television was recovered from the suspect,aadding that, investigation revealed that the suspect has served a jail term before and he is still having a pending court case on robbery allegation against him.
Oyeyemi said,the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered that the suspect to be transferred to Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad,FSARS for discreet
