The Honourable Member representing Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency, Dr. Francis Ottah Agbo, on Friday evening, played host to the Executive Committee of the Ichama Unity Forum and the Forum’s BoT in his Abuja home.

A statement by the Media Adviser to the Reps Member, Mr. Andrew Agbese, indicated that the delegation was led by the President of the Forum, Elder Lawrence Ogwuche.

Elder Ogwuche in his remarks, said the forum mandated the delegation to visit and thank the Rep Member for initiating the rural electrification of Ichama, which he lamented had been the only district in Idomaland without electricity.

The President said: “By your initiative, by your deliberate effort of bringing electricity to Ichama, you have written your name in gold, you have equally put Ichama on global map…We just want to thank you for taking the shame from our head and we can not wait to enjoy electricity…”

He pleaded with the Honourable Member to ignore every form of distraction and remain focused until the project is completed.

Said Elder Ogwuche: “We have also come to plead with you to complete the project, along the line, you will hear unpleasant things about your effort by societal deviants, but be focused and complete what you have started.
“All well-meaning Ichama people including the unborn generations love you and will ever remain grateful to you for the Electrification of Ichama. We are very proud of you, you went to the National Assembly and broke the ceiling glass by becoming the first lawmaker from Benue South to be Chairman of a committee and Spokesman of the Minority Caucus in the first term and this has translated to democratic dividends in Enone and we can only wish you well…”

Dr. Ottah Agbo, while responding, thanked the Ichama Unity Forum for the visit and promised to complete the project in record time.

The Feedback Lawmaker who is the Chairman of the Narcotic Drugs Committee and Spokesman of the Minority Caucus of the House of Representatives, said he has made sure the money required to complete the project has been captured in the 2021 budget.

He said: “I did this because I promised to link Ichama with electricity if voted in 2019, and having been massively elected, I had to redeem my campaign promise under my Operation Light Up Enone Scheme… My philosophy is to make sure that all Districts/ Wards in Enone enjoy electricity, this is exactly what I have done by initiating the electrification of Ichama!”

Dr. Ottah Agbo also known as the Ozigizaga and Moving Train of Enone, advised the Ichama Unity Forum to own the project and nominate three credible Ichama indigenes to liaise with the contractor to monitor the project in order to ensure that the contract is executed according to specifications as captured in the Bill of Quantity!

While noting that he is in politics to serve the people, the Parliamentarian enjoins other areas in Enone that are yet to receive his “liberation touch” to be patient as every district must get a major project from him.

Other exco members on the delegation were the Forum Legal Adviser, Barr. Mrs. Helen Agbo and the Financial Secretary, Mr. Francis Akor and two BoT Members, Mr. Godwin Apochi and Chief Benson Idoko.
