Ekiti Guber: Masked DSS operatives storm the state
Operatives of the Department of State Service DSS have stormed Ekiti state ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial election on July 14.
A source in the state who informed that: “Some Of the DSS operatives are just entering Ekiti now. Their faces are covered. They masked their faces as though they are coming for war. We are afraid
Our source said that the arrival of the operatives has created palpable fear among the residents, complaining that the regular security agencies in the state are, at the moment, embittered about the development but no attention has been given to their alarm.
“Our security agencies here are complaining but nobody is listening to them. This is very dangerous to the election. There is still a need for us to keep complaining.
“As we know, Hired-killers can wear masks and pretend to be DSS”, the source added.
Recall that Nigeria Police Force has deployed 30,000 personnel for the election.
The personnel comprised of Police Mobile Force (PMF) Units, Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), the Special Protection Unit (SPU), the Anti Bomb Squad (EOD), Conventional Policemen, the Armament Unit, personnel of FCIID and the Sniffer dogs section.
Other deployment include: two Patrol Surveillance Helicopters, five additional Armoured Personnel Carriers ( APC), 10 Armoured Personnel Vehicles and 250 Police patrol vehicles.
Other security and safety agencies who are members of Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) in the State were also deployed to complement force during the election.
