Eid-el-Maulud: Tinubu Urges Muslims to Embrace Virtues of Prophet Muhammad

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Muslims across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Maulud celebration, urging them to uphold and practise the virtues and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President said the celebration should go beyond marking the birth of the Holy Prophet to provide an opportunity for introspection, prayer and reflection on his exemplary life.

Tinubu urged Muslims to make deliberate efforts to live by the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, particularly his virtues of devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility and selflessness.

“The Muslim faithful should make deliberate effort to adhere to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad. There are great lessons of devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility and selflessness that we can all learn from the life of the Prophet,” the President said.

The President also called on Islamic scholars and religious leaders to use the occasion to pray for the peace and progress of Nigeria, while encouraging their followers to translate the lessons of the Prophet’s life into greater commitment to the nation.

He urged Muslims celebrating the Maulud to extend kindness and support to the needy and vulnerable, stressing the importance of compassion and fellowship during the season.

Tinubu further called for prayers against insecurity and other challenges affecting parts of the country, urging Nigerians to remain hopeful and committed to the peace and development of the nation.
