Eid-El Fitr: NSCDC Deploys 2,750 Personnel In Ogun

No fewer than two thousand, seven hundred and fifty personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ogun State Command, Abeokuta, have been deployed for forthcoming Eid-il Fitr celebration and the Federal Government holidays slated for May 25th and 26th, 2020.
According to a press release signed by Dyke Ogbonnaya, State Public Relations Officer, and made available to newsmen in Abeokuta, the personnel are to man critical national assets and infrastructures at all levels of government across the state.
The state Commandant, Alhaji Hammed Abodunrin, in the release noted clearly that all COVID-19 regulations are still in force as no tolerance for large gatherings would be encouraged or allowed.
He said: “The use of nose masks, maintaining physical and social distancing, regular washing of the hands and use of hand sanitisers by everyone is still a civic duty and still in force as part of measures to reduce the further spread of the virus across the country.”
Abodunrin also implored the public to notify the corps of any unlawful act around their vicinity for immediate response from the corps.
“To this end, all formations of the corps in the state have been put on alert for any eventuality as the security agencies in the state will not tolerate any act of indiscipline, brigandage and criminality before, during and after the celebration,” he said.
Therefore, the commandant while felicitating with the Muslim communities advised everyone to continue to support the policies and regulations of the state government aimed at reducing the spread of the virus by being law abiding and responsive to extant rules as laid down by the government.
Adding that the lessons of good neighbourliness, alms giving, love and other good virtues among others learnt during the Ramadan period should also be reflected every other time.
Abodunrin also assured the state government of the command’s prompt response at any time in order to make the dreams and aspirations of the government a reality.
