EFCC Arrests Atiku’s Lawyer
One of the People’s Democra Atiku Abubakar’s lawyers, Uyi Giwa-Osagie, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The arrested lawyer is said to to be playing a double role of being Atiku’s lawyer and treasurer.
Sources close to Atiku’s camp, however, have faulted EFCC’s ground upon which the arrest was allegedly executed; insisting that the money found on Giwa-Osagie was meant to be used to take care of supporters ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Osagie was arrested on Monday following the arrest of Alhaji Abdullahi Usman, a BDC owner based in Lagos, who was caught ferrying $2milion by air from Abuja to Lagos.
However, a source from presidency revealed to a major online news portal that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) postponed the election to allow Atiku get money from other sources.
EFCC spokesman, Tony Orilade refused to confirm the arrest, saying that he could not make any statement on the issue until he had received clearance from the authorities in the commission.
