Edo Poly: Obaseki inaugurates seven-man committee

A seven-man committee of enquiry to investigate the activities at the Edo State Polytechnic, Usen has been inaugurated by Governor Godwin Obaseki.

The committee inaugurated at the Government House, Benin City on Thursday is headed by Professor Rose Egonmwan with the mandate to carefully scrutinize the financial books, admission process, quality of the training programmes, lecturers, administration, the ratio of students to lecturers and come up with resolutions that will guide his administration in repositioning the institution.

In speech at the event, governor Obaseki expressed confidence in the wealth of experience of the committee members and stressed that the state is in dire need of technical manpower that would strengthen critical areas of the state’s development plan.

He however mandated the committee six weeks to submit its report, and also to look into others areas that included the mode of employment and promotion.

In her response, the committee chairperson, Prof. Egonmwan, thanked the governor for the confidence reposed in them and assured him that the committee would work round the clock to carry out the assignment.
