EDHA Crisis: Oba of Benin tasks House of Representatives Adhoc Committee to ensure peace

Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, has tasked members of the House of Representatives Adhoc Committee on the crisis in Edo State House of Assembly on the need to find lasting solution to the crisis.
Oba Ewuare II who stated this when the Chairman and members of the Committee paid him a courtesy visit in the Palace, Benin City when he told them that the task before them is a herculean one.
The Beni Monarch noted that he has been talking to the parties involved in the crisis at different occasion, and was at the verge of inviting them for a truce when he heard of the setting up of the Adhoc Committee by the House of Representatives.
He hereby prayed that the Committee should succeed in its assignment in order to bring peace and normalcy to the State Assembly.
The Chairman of the House of Representatives Adhoc Committee, Hon. Abdulrazaq Nadaz told His Royal Majesty that the 13-member Committee was mandated by the House of Representatives to look into the crisis in Edo State House of Assembly and resolve it amicably.
He said members of the Committee are of proven integrity, hence they were carefully selected to undertake the national assignment, assuring that they would do their best to be fair to the people of Edo State.
Hon. Abdulrazaq noted that those involved in the crisis are from Edo State and pleaded with the Omo N’Oba to intervene so that the issue can be easily resolved.
He said as a Committee they would investigate, adding that they would rely on the advice and guidance of the Oba of Benin as their goal was to bring peace to Edo State House of Assembly.
He assured that they will do their job with the fear of God.
