DSS rebrand, reposition

As part of ongoing efforts by the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Mr. Tosin Ajayi, to reposition the agency as a professionally run, intelligence-driven organization, only photographs featuring the DSS with the approved logos [published herein] will henceforth be considered appropriate for public use.

In a statement released by the DSS Public Relations Department, it was noted that upon assuming office, the DG pledged to restore the Service to its core mandate and uphold a standard of professionalism rooted in intelligence-based operations and discretion.

The statement further explained: “The DG strongly believes in the saying, ‘What you believe determines what you perceive, and what you perceive ultimately determines what you receive.’”

He holds that repeated exposure to images of heavily armed operatives influences public perception and expectations in ways that may not align with the Service’s true mission.

Accordingly, the DSS calls on the media and the general public to refrain from using outdated images of armed personnel when representing the Service and to support this shift towards a more accurate and responsible portrayal.
