DSS Arrests 25-Year-Old Woman Over Alleged Ammunition Supply to Bandits
Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have arrested a 25-year-old woman, Nafisa Usman, for allegedly supplying ammunition to bandits operating across multiple states.
According to security sources, Usman was apprehended at a major motor park in Kano while in possession of 200 rounds of newly acquired ammunition. The suspect was reportedly intercepted during a routine surveillance operation by DSS operatives.
Investigations revealed that the ammunition consignment was transported from Lafia in Nasarawa State and was en route to Kankara in Katsina State, an area known for frequent bandit activities.
Security officials say the arrest is part of ongoing efforts to disrupt the logistics and supply networks of criminal groups terrorising communities in northern Nigeria. Authorities are expected to intensify investigations to uncover possible collaborators and the broader network behind the illegal arms movement.
The DSS has yet to issue an official statement on the development, but sources indicate that the suspect is currently in custody and assisting with further inquiries.
