Dogara’s Defection: No One Is Original In APC – Sule Lamido
The return of the former speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara to All Progressives Congress (APC) has drawn reactions from a lot of politicians in the country.
Many has criticised this, wondering why the former Speaker was jumping from one party to the other like a political adventurer, while some agreed that he had the right to do whatever he so wish.
Dr Sule Lamido, former governor of Jigawa state and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in his own reaction has asked members of the ruling party who had come out to criticize the former Speaker, as not being an original member of APC, if anyone was really Original in the party.

This is also in reaction to the statement of a chieftain of APC, Itse Sagay, who had earlier condemned the return of the former speaker to APC.
Sagay, who is the Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), described the return of former Speaker of the House of Representatives to APC as a big setback for the image of the party.
He said the APC, as a principled party, should not have allowed Dogara back in its fold.
According to him, “For me, this is a big setback for the image of the APC. I think it’s an illustration of the fact that we are yet to adopt ideology and principles in our politics. Because if you have an ideology and philosophy, you won’t be hopping from one party to another. Itse Sagay had said.
The different reaction is coming barely few days after the former Speaker of the Nigerian house of representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara returned to All Progressives Congress (APC), where he was before the 2019 general elections.
It could be recalled that Dogara was led to meet President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House on Friday by the Chairman of the party’s Caretaker/National Planning Committee Governor Mai Mala Buni, which signaled his return to APC.
