Dangote Refinery Resumes Petrol Sales in Naira
Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals has announced that it has restarted the sale of petrol in naira.
The development was conveyed in a memo issued to marketers, stating:
“Following the intervention of the Chairman of the Naira-for-Crude Technical Committee, we are pleased to notify you that PMS sales in naira have resumed with immediate effect.
“You may now proceed to place your orders in naira for either self-collection or free delivery to the previously designated locations nationwide.
“We appreciate your continued support and patronage.”
This latest directive comes just days after the refinery had suspended naira sales of PMS. In a notice released last Friday, the company had explained that it had been selling beyond its naira-crude allocation, making it unsustainable to continue with local currency sales.
That earlier memo had stated:
“Effective Sunday, 28th September 2025, PMS sales in naira will be suspended. We will communicate further details regarding the resumption of supply once the issue is resolved.
“Customers with existing PMS transactions in naira who wish to obtain refunds are advised to formally request processing of such refunds.”
