DANGOTE I.P.O. : I’M NOT BEWITCHED..!!!

Let me state from the outset that the man, DANGOTE amazes me in many ways and I ADMIRE him ESPECIALLY for his business acumen, focus and PRESENCE of mind to READ the ever changing business climate in Nigeria.
I RESPECT Dangote for CHOOSING to INVEST in Nigeria and in JOBS- CREATING ventures unlike many of his
” FAT COWS ” colleagues who chose and are STILL choosing to ” INVEST” in Private Jets, inconsequential parties, revelries and luxuries that add no VALUE to humanity.
NOTWITHSTANDING,the above, I’ve ALSO been amazed with THE CRAZE, No , “RAT-RUSH” for the just launched I.P.O. of Dangote Refinery which, in my opinion is AIMED and TARGETED at further ENRICHMENT of the man: ALIKO DANGOTE AND BY EXTENSION HIS BUSINESS EMPIRE { which is not a sin} , a venture yours sincerely IS NOT GOING to join.
FOR THOSE WHO CARE TO KNOW, I BOUGHT Dangote SUGAR and SALT shares many years back BUT the RETURNS have been ABYSMALLY disappointing BOTH IN DIVIDENDS OR VALUE OF STOCKS..!!!
BEFORE YOU ACCUSE ME OF NEGATIVE INTENTIONS OR CRASS JEALOUSY,PLEASE ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:
- IS SUGAR NOT AN EVERYDAY COMMODITY?
- IS SALT NOT AN EVERYDAY ESSENTIAL COMMODITY?
- ARE BOTH NOT SOUGHT – AFTER COMMODITIES IN THE WORLD,NAY NIGERIA?
4.IS THERE NOT A DAY IN THE 365/366 DAYS OF EVERY YEAR THAT THESE TWO COMMODITIES ARE NOT PAID FOR, BOUGHT AND USED FROM THE WHITE HOUSE TO NIGERIA’S ÁSO ROCK AND FROM CITIES TO VILLAGES AND HAMLETS ??
DESPITE, the FACT that these commodities ARE IN HIGH DEMAND That surpasses EVEN PETROL and its derivatives, THE RETURNS ON MY SUBSCRIPTIONS to the DANGOTE shares of same have NOT yielded any APPRECIABLE returns AND THE REASONS for these BELOW PAR performances have not been explained to date..!!
While I DON’T have a crystal ball view/ prediction of the future performances of the OVER-HYPED { In my view} DANGOTE REFINERY I.P.O. , I AM NONETHELESS, not GOING TO ADD MY HARD-EARNED finances to the wealth of ALIKO DANGOTE. NOT EVEN NOW THAT I’M IN THE CATEGORY OF THE SENIOR CITIZENS OR IF YOU LIKE, ELDER STATEMEN..!!!
ON THE OTHER HAND, I’d rather subscribe to and CONTINUE to subscribe to other investments like the MONEY MARKET { very good WITH LOW RISKS} OR EQUITY FUNDS which ARE MORE BALANCED , GUARANTEED and PREDICTABLE than PUTTING MY MILLIONS in I.P.O. as DANGOTE REFINERY WHICH MAY NOT DECLARE ANY DIVIDEND FOR THE NEXT THREE to FOUR YEARS OR MIGHT EVEN USE OTHER STOCK MARKETS SUBTERFUGES TO DO DENY ME OF
JUST-DESERVED RETURNS ..!!!
Furthermore, I WOULD RATHER INVEST MY ONE OR TWO MILLION { if I had that amount} IN FIXED BANK DEPOSITS, ARAMCO,OR AND IN BUYING AND SELLING of ” PURE WATER” WHICH WILL GIVE ME SATISFACTORY AND MULTIPLE RETURNS MONTHLY, IN A YEAR AND CONSEQUENTIAL YEARS THAN ENRICH A MAN WHO ALREADY HAS ENOUGH AND WOULDN’T CARE IF I GET ANY RETURNS OR NOT FROM MY INVESTMENTS IN HIS COMPANY AND WOULD ONLY CARE {and justifiably so from a businessman’s view} FOR HIS PROFITS ALONE AS IS PRESENTLY MANIFESTED IN THE UPWARD SWINGS OF THE PRICE OF PETROL,DIESEL AND KEROSENE IN NIGERIA .!!!
NOTWITHSTANDING, my foregoing opinion, I WISH THOSE { WHICH MAY INCLUDE MY CHILDREN} RUSHING and joining THE ‘RAT RACE” to subscribe to the DANGOTE offers the BEST in their quests BUT as for me, I REFUSE TO BE “BEWITCHED” AND CANNOT BE ” BEWITCHED” BECAUSE AFFLICTION SHALL NOT AND CANNOT BEFALL ME A SECOND OR THIRD OR ANY MORE TIME..!!!!
