CRISIS HITS OGUN WATER PRODUCERS ASSOCIATION, AS BREAKAWAY FACTION EMERGES
Ogun State Chapter of Association Table Water Producers,( ATWP),is now facing crisis following a resolution by a group of members to pull out to form a paralel association.
The spokesman of the breakaway group Eric Oyebade gave signal to this development at the end of their meeting held in Abeokuta having dissasociated themselves from purported election of new executives.
The faction also indicted some leaders for allegedly colluding with some members of the association to organised a fake election.
Oyebade said the factional body has noted with dissatisfaction,a report that a ‘democratic’,elected executives has been put in place, stressing the aforementioned poll was a ruse.
He also declared that, the purported election was done in secrecy without knowledge and input of the majority of the members, hence,it remained illegal.
The parallel body equally stated that, a reconcillatory committee had earlier being put in place to mend fences,to set up a credible electoral committee, but was not allowed to come out to come out with report
He further emphasised that, rather than consider the report of the peace committee, a hurriedly organised clandestine election took place to purportedly selected some unpopular members to lead the association.
The aggrieved party said in view of this ugly development,it has resolved to form a paralel body with a new trademark,Table Water and Beverages Producers, which is to be registered with Corporate Affairs Commission.
‘Due to the procedure engaged in selecting the state executives of ATWAP in Ogun State, the concerned majority cannot subject themselves to the leadership of the few, when the venue of the election was kept in secret’,he emphasised
‘Henceforth, the group dissociate itself with ATWAP as being constituted presently with the view of forming a seperate association,a new body by the name, Table Water and Beverages Producers Association of Nigeria,TWABPAN’,Oyebade posited,
He affirmed that, this should be registered the Corporate Affairs Commission, for the purpose of giving a legal status to the body, with a temporary office at 74 Ogunbona Street,Akomoje,Abeokuta.
When contacted the controversial elected chairman of the association, S.B Lawal declared that he has no comment.
His reaction ‘What is your concern and where are u based. Please I have to comment’
