Crime Free State: Ogun Police Command Needs More Manpower- CP Ebrimson

By ABIODUN JIMOH, ABEOKUTA
Desperate to eradicate all forms of crime activities across the state, the Nigeria Police Force, Ogun State Command has requested for more manpower to achieve its aspirations.
The state which over the years has become an industrial hub of the nation is well-known to be one of the leading states safe enough to do business within without molestations.
The Command Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson made this request on Tuesday during the visit of the Assistant Inspector General of Police in Charge of Zone two, Ahmed Iliyasu to the state.
Moreover, it was a home coming for the AIG Iliyasu, as he was warmly welcome to the command headquarters at Eleweran, Abeokuta by officers, stakeholders having served there as the commissioner of police for a period of three years before being redeployed to another state, from where he rose to become AIG in charge of the zone comprises of Lagos and Ogun State.
The CP, while rolling out the command achievements within two months of his assumption of the command during AIG meeting with all stakeholders identified manpower deficit as one of the challenges being faced in the command.
He remarked that due to the congestion in Lagos State, Ogun has become industrial hub of the nation, and that investors would not want to invest in crime environment. “Increase in manpower will enhance the command to march words with actions.”
He hereby expressed confidence that his men were battle ready to tackle criminals even at their various hideouts all round the clock, but believed that more manpower would be an added advantage to reach their desires of total crime free state.
Meanwhile, in his response, AIG Iliyasu hinted that the CP request would be adequately treated, noting that inadequate manpower occurred as a result of retirement, death of officers, dismissal, health issues and voluntary resignation.
