Crashed VP’s chopper: PDP raises concern, calls for investigation

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed shock and concern over the crash of the helicopter conveying the vice president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo on Saturday, February 2, in Kabba, Kogi state.

Thanking God for the safety of Osinbajo in the deadly experience, the opposition party called for a thorough investigation of the accident which came just days to the presidential election.

In a statement by its national publicity secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, the PDP called on all Nigerians to keep praying for leaders in the country at all levels.

The statement read: “The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) expresses shock over the crash of the helicopter carrying Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, in Kabba, Kogi state, on Saturday.

“The PDP thanks God for the safety of Vice President Osinbajo, members of his entourage and the crew.

“The party however called for a thorough investigation into the traumatic incident adding that the safety of our leaders, and of course, all Nigerians, must be guaranteed, especially at this critical time.

“The PDP urges all Nigerians irrespective of creed, ethnicity and political affiliation, to continue to pray for God’s continued intervention in our national life.”
