COVID-19 Relief Package: Exercise Patience With Us- LG Boss Appeals To Residents

Transition Committee Chairman, Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Ayodeji Shomide has urged residents in the council who are yet to get their own package to exercise patience, just as he promised that it would surely reach them as soon as possible.

Shomide disclosed this during the distribution of second phase of relief materials to the vulnerable and aged residents of the state across the council which commenced yesterday.

It could be recalled that the state government decided to release second batch food items stimulus package to cover the areas that have not been touched.

This second phase was part of efforts of the five committee members to ensure evenly distribution of food relief package to those who did not get during the first batch, while the council boss and his team visited various households and others to distribute food items.

The transition chairman hereby commended Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun for the second phase idea, stating that it has helped them a lot to touch areas where they have not been able to during the first phase.

He remarked that they have tried to identify the number of polling units in different wards so as to help them in the distribution process, maintaining that they were to reach 6,400 households, but have reached 4,000 households, thus promised to complete all.

“I am using this occasion to appeal to residents in the council who are yet to get their own package to exercise patience, they will surely get theirs too.

“Also, residents of the state should to continue to support the administration of Prince Abiodun, for his efforts so far during this lockdown cannot be undermined, and it has rescued a lot of people from poverty during this trying period.
