COVID-19: Ogun Government Takes Delivery Of Essential Medical Materials Donated By Flour Mills

As Ogun State Government intensity to curb the spread of Coronavirus pandemic lis gathering momentum, Flour Mills of Nigeria PLC has taken another giant steps to help stem the scourge of the pandemic by donating various essential medical materials to the state government.
The Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele while receiving the materials on behalf of the state government in her office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta appreciated the company for the support.
Some of the materials donated were in form of oxilators, face mask, disposable gloves, protective garments, face covers and several thousand test kits.
In a show of appreciation, she assured them that the materials donated would be of good use particularly for the health professionals as well as help to control the spread of the disease.
Also, Engr Salako-Oyedele recalled that recently it was a hundred days since the first index case was recorded in the state and unfortunately the pandemic is still raging across not only in the state, but the country as a whole.
She stressed: “The battle is on to provide the best care possible alongside mitigative relief materials for the people especially during the lock down period.
“A lot of flour mills product were used extensively during the distribution of relief materials in this state, we procured some, some were donated to us by well meaning individuals, corporate organisations and also by flour mills itself.
“I acknowledge that and wish you all the best as you continue to support the fight against Covid-19 by ensuring our people do not go hungry.”
However, she expressed appreciation on the role played by the company in ensuring food security across the country particularly during this difficult time, saying it was a great call on them in meeting the unprecedented food demand that has been placed on the food sector due to the pandemic.
Meanwhile, in his remarks, the Group Human Resource Director, Flour Mills of Nigeria PLC, Wale Adeniran expressed the company’s support for the state government, pleading his organisation’s commitment towards curbing the spread of the disease in the state and country at large.
While commending the state government’s efforts at flattening the curve of the pandemic in the state, he informed that the donation of the essential medical materials and personal protective equipment was a fall out of their desire to ensure that pandemic is conquered in its totalty.
