COVID 19- Interfaith specialist tasks wealthy individual to support poor with preventive kits

An interfaith specialist, Hajiya Ramatu Tijjani has called on wealthy individuals and corporate organizations to support the poor with preventive kits against Coronavirus.
Tijani made the call during an interview with journalists in Kaduna on Thursday.
She commended the efforts of the state and Federal Governments toward sensitizing the public on various preventive ways against the pandemic in the country.
Tijani stressed that wealthy individuals and corporate organizations should emulate what others have done in some parts of the world by helping the masses with kits and other preventives equipment for free.
Tijjani said all information about ways to prevent the virus had reached the poor, but they needed preventive kits,
According to her, using face mask, maintaining social distance and hand washing are important to avert contracting the virus.
She condemned traders for taking advantage of the sityation by hiking the prices of goods in markets, thereby, making it difficult for the poor.
She also called on Muslims and Christians across the country to pray for God’s intervention to end the spread of coronavirus.
“We have offended God that is why we are having this problem of Coronavirus outbreak.
“We need to go back to God and beg him to forgive us for all the sins that were committed,” she added.
Meanwhile, Rev. Sunday Ibrahim, Secretary, Kaduna state Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), also condemned traders for hiking prices.
“Report reaching me now is that some traders are taking advantage of the moment to make more money, this is not good and they should fear God”.
