COVID-19: Ibadan Royal Family Donates Relief Materials To Schools, Sensitises Pupils

A Royal family in the ancient city if Ibadan, Arulogun family has donated relief materials to schools in Arulogun town in the state to cushion the effect of coronavirus pandemic.

The releif materials included hand sanitizers, face masks, buckets, amongst others were donated to primary and secondary school pupils in the town having commenced classes amidst the terrifying Covid-19.

The royal family led by Mogaji Arulogun and the Jagun Balogun of Ibadan, Chief Monsur Arulogun expressed that it became necessary to support the efforts of the state government in ensuring the safety of the pupils while in schools at this trying time.

He hereby expressed worry over the damaging effect of the novel virus, expressing fear that students might fall victim of the effect.

The Arulogun family also used the occasion to sensitise the pupils on the need to stay safe and strictly adhere to government’s NCDC’s directives on Covid-19 by washing their hands, using face masks and maintaining social distancing.

While speaking to newsmen, Chief Mosur said “The Arulogun family did this in order to support the government. Government cannot do it alone. A way of appreciate Oyo State government is to join hands with Governor Seyi Makinde administration to fight Covid-19.

“Schools have resumed in Oyo State and we want to ensure that the students are safe in line with government efforts. This will not be the last from the Arulogun family. We will do more to support the government.”

Meanwhile, during the visit, scores of pupils were surprised that a host community could extend such gesture, especially in a trickled down economy situation.

Other family members who participated in the tour were Chief Timothy Oluyombo Arulogun, Baale-elect, Arulogun 1; Chief Lawal Taofeq Arulogun, Baale-elect Arulogun Oja town, and a host of others.
