Comrade Razaq Ayinla Led Ogun Correspondent Chapel Opens New Office

A new dawn has been set as the new secretariat of the Correspondent Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council was commissioned on Thursday, November 5th, 2020.

The new office of the Correspondent Chapel under the leadership of Comrade Razaq Ayinla is situated at Ijemo area, Abeokuta, state capital.

Speaking at the commissioning, the Ogun NUJ Caretaker Chairman, Mrs. Omolola Adeyinka advised all chapel members to always get involved in the scheme of things, adding that the unity of the chapel is important to the success of the whole Ogun NUJ.

She further praised the dexterity and efforts of the chapel chairman, Comrade Rasaq Ayinla in making sure the chapel move forward, adding that his attendance and contributions at SEC meetings cannot be over-emphasized.

She therefore called on the aggrieved members of the chapel to toll the line of peace and come back to the fold. “The Ogun NUJ and the Chapel is willing and ready to accommodate all of them anytime.”

Also speaking, one of the elders of the chapel and former Zonal Secretary of NUJ, Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji noted that his presence at the commissioning of the new secretariat was an evidence of obedience to a constituted authority of the state and national body of the union.

He stressed that for any institution to succeed in its activities, it must be seen to obey the tenets and constitution that binds it.

“A responsible follower will follow the instructions of the leadership. And I am also standing here today to say that I am not against the leadership directives, so I am here today to follow the right direction of our leaders, because all over the world leadership is leadership.

“We must always try as much as possible to obey the constituted authority in everything we do,” he opined.

Welcoming the members to the new secretariat, the chapel chairman, Comrade Ayinla emphasized on the need to close ranks with all aggrieved members in order to move the chapel forward.

He therefore implore all the members of the chapel, the elders, those who have served and those serving in one capacity or the other to come together and resolve the issue at hand once and for all.

“Except we want to play it down, we have issues at hand. God will come to our aid, but we have to start the process and we must start the process with all sincerity.

“But in the meantime, we are commissioning the official secretariat of the chapel today, that will serve as the official office of the correspondent chapel of the Ogun NUJ, and I pray this will be the beginning of good things to come to all of us.” he concluded.

The Caretaker Secretary, Ogun NUJ Comrade Wale Oluokun, in hand with the Chairman and other members present therefore inspects the new office after the official cutting of the ribbon.
