Coach Ogbe assumes duty as Insurance FC technical manager
ABIODUN JIMOH, BENIN CITY
Coach Bernard Okpeh Ogbe has assumed duty as the new technical manager of Bendel Insurance FC of Benin.
This was disclosed in a statement made available to sports writers in Benin City, Edo State capital on Tuesday by the club media officer, Kehinde Osagiede
Osagiede stated that the Benue-born tactician appointment was confirmed by the club management and has since started work with the team on Monday, upon their return from a three-week break.
“The former Mighty Jets and Niger Tornadoes manager replaced the former technical manager, Monday Odigie who recently stepped aside and embarked on a refresher course abroad.
“However, expectation of the club management on the new technical manager is to drive the process of taking the club back to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), sustain the status and bring about beautiful football culture among other qualities,” he said.
He recalled that coach Odigie within two seasons succeeded in bringing the Benin Arsenal back to the NPFL after eleven years in the NNL and competed gallantly in the just concluded 2018/2019 season but could not survive the drop battle in abridged league.
Meanwhile, Coach Baldwin Bazuaye and Greg Ikhenoba would remain Chief Coach and Assistant coach respectively and will continue to work with the new technical manager.
