CNG Price Reportedly Increases

The price of compressed natural gas (CNG) has reportedly doubled, just few months after the federal government came up with the initiative.

The CNG was proposed as an alternative to petrol especially for vehicles due to the unending increment in the price of fuel per litre.

The government had engaged in massive publicity to encourage Nigerian commuters to convert their vehicles to be able to use gas in order to save cost. At the start, CNG price was pegged at N200/Kg.

However, reports making rounds have it that the price of the commodity now varies as in some places, it is now sold at N400/Kg.

This has raised questions among Nigerians as some are of the opinion that except it is subsidized, the market will affect the commodity and price may skyrocket just like the petrol.
