Christmas: Plateau police command deploys 2,046 personnel
In its efforts to ensure a crime-free Christmas celebration in Plateau State, the Police Command in the state on Monday said it has deployed 2, 046 of its officers to protect lives and property of the citizenry.
The Command through its spokesman, DSP Mathias Terna Tyopev disclosed this to journalists in Jos the State Capital.
“As such, a total of two thousand and forty six police personnel have being carefully selected, trained and deployed to protect lives and property of members of the public.
“The Police is also in synergy with other security agencies in the State to ensure a crime free yuletide season,” he explained.
“The Command wishes to re-echo her earlier ban on the use of fireworks, bangers, knockouts. This is because our officers and men are out to make sure that both Christmas and New Year activities are celebrated without any hitches and distraction”, he warned.
“Consequently, we plead with parents/guardians to help guide their children and wards to be law abiding.”
The Command advised the public to board vehicles only in designated parks in the state and avoid boarding on the highway in order not to fall for the criminal antics of bad people who operate outside the parks.
