Choosing right course, panacea for academic excellence, bright future — Omipidan tells Igbomina youths
… urges them to see education as tool for society’s development.
The Chief Press Secretary to Osun State Governor, Mr. Ismail Omipidan, has urged the youths to always equip themselves with necessary information and orientation before choosing their dream courses as it is a stepping stone towards academic excellence and a bright future.
He made this remark today while delivering a paper on Making a Career in Journalism at a two-day career talk/conference by the Igbomina Today Resource Centre for SS 3 students in Ila and Ifedayo Local Government Areas. The theme of the career talk is “In Search of 100 Next Generation Leaders”.
Mr. Omipidan, who was represented at the event by the Media Adviser (Speech Writing) to the Governor, Mr. Sola Imoru, focused on journalism as a promising career the students can take up.
Giving his Keynote Address, the Royal Father of the Day, the Orangun of Oke-Ila, Oba Adedokun Abolarin, charged the students to take their destinies in their own hands, saying nothing is impossible to achieve in life with sound education.
Other Igbomina leaders delivered papers in their separate areas of specialization. Prof. Bashir Omipidan, Dean, Faculty of Law, University of Ilorin, gave career talk on Law. ACP Ayodeji Babalola’s paper centred on making a career in the military and police while Dr. George Olayinka Owolabi, the Chief Medical Director of Laayonu hospital, Ogbomoso, delivered a paper on making career in medicine and other related courses, among others.
