Buhari: VP Shettima arrives London

Vice President Kashim Shettima arrived in London on Monday, July 14, 2025, acting on the directive of President Bola Tinubu in the wake of former President Muhammadu Buhari’s passing.

He was accompanied by the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila. Upon arrival, they were received by Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, and Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum.

Shettima is expected to accompany Buhari’s remains back to Nigeria for burial in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State. The former president died in London on Sunday after a prolonged illness.
