Buhari keeps mute on Osinbajo as running mate, as Tinubu may shop for another candidate

ABIODUN JIMOH, BENIN CITY

There strong indication that the cabals in the administration of President Muhammad Buhari led government might have perfected their strategy to scheme out Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as Buhari’s running mate at the 2019 general elections.

The All Progressives Congress (APC), ruling government cabals who saw the Vice President as hard nut to crack is said to be influencing the Mr. President to drop the Professor of Law as his running mate and chose another Yoruba man from the South West zone instead.

This could be noticed barely after one month that Mr. President was unanimously endorsed by the party delegates, while the running mate candidate is yet to be announced by the presidency or the party having held underground series of caucus meetings.

With this development, there are indication that Osinbajo position as vice president is tantamount to questioning even as his godfather, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu frequent visits to Mr. President is an attestation that the Ogun State born professor career at Aso Rock Villa may be coming to an abrupt end.

An insider at the Presidency told Daily Dispatch Newspaper that some of the resolution reached at one of the Tinubu’s meeting with the president is to ensure that Asiwaju Tinubu presents another candidate from the South West while the vice president may be linked to work at the International Court community, most especially at the International Court of Justice, or any other.

The source further hinted that though, the presidency might have been managing the crises within over some of the decisions taken by the vice president in the absence of the president while in abroad, but that has not deterred the cabals from insisting for a change and person that they could manipulate, having seen Prof. Osinbajo too stubborn to break.

Some of the sins listed against the former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Lagos were the investigation panel against the former Secretary General of the Federation, former Directors General of Directorate of Secret Service, and many others.

Some party members who spoke with Daily Dispatch questioned that why has President Buhari not announce his running mate since he got the ticket for another term.

According to our source, party members, particularly those from Ogun state are apprehensive, because Buhari’s body language is not in anyway suggesting where he belongs.
