Breaking: Retired DIGs shun police Workshop

Some of the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGs) whose surprise retirement were announced yesterday evening could not attend a National Strategic Policing Plan Development Workshop going on at Bolton Hotel Abuja.

INDEPENDENT reliably learnt that the workshop was meant for selected senior officers from the rank of Commissioners of Police and above.

Force Spokesman ACP Frank Mba could not speak on the DIGs’ absence but said “Its for selected senior officers.”

On who the new DIGs are and when will they resume official duty, Mba said, “Its the Police Service Commission (PSC) that is responsible for retirement and promotion.”
