Breaking: Obasanjo, Gumi secures release of all abducted forestry students

It has been confirmed that 29 students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka in Kaduna State, abducted about two months ago by bandits, have regained their freedom.

The release of abducted students was reportedly facilitated by Sheikh Abubakar Gumi dialogue committee with the support of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Thirty-seven of the students were abducted 56 days ago from their school in Afaka with 10 released, after payment of ransom by some parents.

Kaduna State Government under Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has refused to negotiate payment of ransom with bandits, saying they deserve to be killed.
