Breaking: Nnamani dumps PDP, reaffirms ties with Tinubu
Former Governor of Enugu State, Senator Chimaroke Nnamani, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party.
The representative of Enugu East Senatorial District announced his decision in a statement he issued on Monday.
In the statement, Nnamani reaffirmed his support for the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who he canvassed for in the countdown to the polls.
The PDP had at some point suspended Nnamani for backing Tinubu, who was the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress for the February 25, 2023 elections.
Nnamani, who dumped the PDP hours after he lost his bid to return to the Senate, said he has consulted with his associates and constituents alike and decided to quit the PDP on account of irreconcilable differences with the national leadership of the party.
The statement added: “The former Governor reaffirmed his acquaintance with the President-Elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu and promised to continue to partner with him.
“Senator Nnamani expressed optimism that a Tinubu Administration will promote good governance ,rule of law and human rights for the interest of all Nigerians.”
