(Breaking News ) Nationwide Strike : NASS, NLC, TUC, Others In Crucial Meeting In Abuja

The National Assembly leadership and that of the organised Labour, NLC are currently holding an emergency crucial meeting in Abuja apparently to avert the proposed national strike slated for Monday
The meeting which is holding at the National Assembly complex is being presided over by the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio with the Speaker, House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, principal officers, Chairmen of various Committees from both Chambers.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Senator George Akume led the federal Government delegation along with some Ministers to the meeting while, the NLC President, Joe Ajaero and TUC President Festus Osifo led members of the organised Labour.
Akpabio while welcoming them said that they as lawmakers were not taking the job of the Executive or that of Labour but only committed to avert the strike as it would be difficult to negotiate while on strike.
The labour union on their part said that what they are fighting for was a living wages for the nation’s workers.
The meeting has dissolved into an Executive session for them to brainstorm over the matter
