BREAKING: Magu Cannot Continue as EFCC Chairman – Senate

Senate has declared that Ibrahim Magu can no longer continue as the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Recall that the upper legislative chamber had earlier rejected  Magu as Chairman of the EFCC, following an indicting report from DSS.

Speaking after plenary, Senate spokesman, Abdulahi Sabi, insisted that the report of the Department of State Service, DSS, was adopted by the Senate.

According to Sabi, the senate will not confirm anyone who failed such integrity test.

He said, “The rejection of Magu by the Senate signifies that he cannot continue in acting capacity.‎”

“We did not confirm him. He failed the integrity test.”

Sabi said some senators who were backing Magu’s confirmation backed out because of his poor performance during plenary.
