Breaking: LG staff arrested over alleged attempt to smuggle official documents in Osun

A staff member of Egbedore Local Government Secretariat, identified as Mr. Adebayo Taiwo, has been apprehended for allegedly attempting to leave the council premises with files containing sensitive official documents.

According to information available, Taiwo was intercepted at the main gate of the Egbedore LG Secretariat while allegedly trying to sneak out with the documents. Security operatives on duty reportedly stopped him during a routine check, leading to the discovery of the files in his possession.

Following his arrest, the suspect was handed over to the police for further investigation and interrogation to determine the nature of the documents and the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Security sources commended the swift response and vigilance of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), the Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), and other security personnel involved in the operation, noting that their proactiveness prevented a possible breach of official records.

Authorities say further details will be made public as investigations continue.
