Breaking: Kwankwaso’s son in-law emerges Kano PDP governorship candidate

Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf on Tuesday morning emerged as the flag bearer of the Kano chapter of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2019 general elections.

The primary election that held at the Lugard Avenue, residence of the party leader, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso after the initial venue was sealed by the police was conducted by Mr Ezeogu Emeka Onouha, leader of the electoral committee constituted by the party National Working Committee (NWC).

The election kicked off past midnight on Tuesday and ended at about 3am sequel to the withdrawal of heavily armed policemen deployed to the headquarters of Kwankwasiyya Movement.

Mr Ezeogu Emeka Onuoha while announcing the results at the wee hours of Tuesday explained that no fewer than 4,130 accredited delegates participated in the exercise.

According to Onuoha, the breakdown of the final results showed that Abba Kabir Yusuf scored 2,421 to emerged as the candidate of the PDP in Kano, while Alhaji Jafar Sani Bello came second with 1258, Muhammad Sadiq Wali secured 167 votes on a day 2015 party flag bearer Salihu Sagir Takai garnered 95 votes.
