Breaking: INEC Dumps Recall Notice At Melaye’s Office Entrance + Photo

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission have dumped the recall notice meant for Senator Dino Melaye at the entrance of his office in the National Assembly.
The INEC officials did this on Tuesday morning as announced by the commission on Monday.
The commission had on Monday accused Melaye, the representative of Kogi West Senatorial District, of avoiding the recall process letter being served on him.
Melaye also on Monday denied avoiding being served.
Rather, he said the process had lapsed and that only three members of his constituency and not over 188,000 as claimed signed the petition for his recall.
On Tuesday morning, The Eagle Online sighted officials of INEC in front of Melaye’s office as early as 10am as promised by the electoral umpire on Monday.
But the door was locked.
One of Melaye’s aides was equally sighted by The Eagle Online close to the office.
The INEC officials, who had dumped the letter and other materials in front of the office, were still there as at press time.
