Breaking: INEC Chair Yakubu Transfers Leadership to Agbamuche as Acting Chairman

Professor Mahmood Yakubu has stepped down as Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), handing over the reins to May Agbamuche, who will serve as Acting Chairman.
Agbamuche, the commission’s longest-serving National Commissioner, takes on the role in an interim capacity.
The handover was announced by Professor Yakubu on Tuesday during a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners at INEC headquarters in Abuja.
He urged all commissioners and directors to fully support Agbamuche as she leads the commission until a new substantive chairman is appointed.
