Breaking: I won’t change my style on looters if re-elected – Buhari declares

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, February 6, told Nigerians that he would not change his style of leadership, especially on his fight against corruption, if re-elected come February 19.

He gave his assurance during a presidential campaign at the Aper Aku stadium in Makurdi, Benue state, The Nation reports.

The president was received by a legion of party loyalists, who trooped out en mass to welcome him.

President Buhari also reeled out some of the achievements of his administration over the last three and half years.

He also spoke on the insecurity situation in respect to the farmer herdsmen crisis in the state, promising that his administration would map out formidable and strategic measures to end the lingering crisis.

On corruption, President Buhari said he would give the looters their worst nightmares, expose corrupt elites, and channel recovered looted funds towards construction of roads and railway stations.

The president also said he had provided fertilisers to farmers in order to put an end to food importation and boost the economy.

Speaking at the campaign rally was the national president of All Progressive Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, who assured that the president would not give chances for some desperate elements to cause violence in the state and the country.

Senator George Akume, a former governor of the state, also commended the president for managing the economy well through vibrant initiatives like Social Investment Programme (SIP).
