Breaking: Gov Ayade dumps PDP, hosts pre-defection dinner with 7 APC Governors

Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State is set to dump the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The governor may announce his defection as early as tomorrow, Thursday, May 20.

As a prelude to the defection, Ayade is at the moment hosting a dinner in Government House, Calabar, with seven APC Governors in attendance.

Some of the APC Governors in attendance, NewsBreakNG gathered are those of Kebbi, Yobe, Ebonyi, Imo and Nasarawa.

Ayade has been having running battle with the PDP in the state over the control of the party’s structures, which he does not have a hold on.

The governor has also not been participating in the recent events of the PDP governors, preferring to delegate his deputy instead.
